We learn through play in the drop-in. The materials listed below will be set out in play areas inside the drop-in room. Children and their parents/caregivers are welcome to choose other materials from the shelves. There are activities in the backyard, too!

Connecting to Others: Reading books together

TUESDAY (SNACK AT 4:00, SONG/STORY CIRCLE IN THE DROP-IN AT 4:20)

Language Development/Expression (infants): Communicating with infant while looking at infant’s expressions in the rolling mirror

Language Development/Expression (older children): Singing along to nursery rhymes

Creative Expression: Painting with sponges using water colour paint on boarded card stock

Sensory Play: Shaking auditory sensory bottles

Physical Well-Being: Standing up and walking using infant climber

Emotional Well-Being: Responding back to infants by smiling, interacting with toys, or picking up

Manipulation and Investigation/S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Learning (infants): Removing and replacing pegs on coloured peg board

Manipulation and Investigation/S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Learning (older children): Sorting Lego blocks on to coloured construction paper
