Black History Month Celebration

Today is a regular drop-in day: join us for a Black History Month Celebration at the Centre!  "Black History Month is a time to honour black Canadians and reflect on the contributions, achievements, and history of black people in Canada” (Alberta Human Rights Commission, 2015, para. 1). While the Centre is always working toward creating inclusive environments, this is a time when we give even more thought to the issues that Black people continue to face and how we can be more inclusive. We will be honouring Black History month at the drop-in through creative and educational art activities. Today, Tambo Drummer Abraham will join us at Circle Time.
